This week is Dementia Action Week. The aim of the week is to not only increase awareness of issues surrounding dementia, but also to encourage more action to be taken which contributes towards creating a dementia-friendly society.
Dementia affects 850,000 people in the UK, with 40,000 people under the age of 65 suffering from early onset dementia.
Throughout the week, actions which help to make everyday life better for those with dementia are being encouraged. Whether that be as simple as getting in touch with someone you know that has dementia, or attending one of the range of fundraising events which are taking place across the UK.
