Roisin attended the National 2020 Dignity
Conference in her role as a Dignity Champion and Trustee for the charity. The
purpose of the conference was to collaborate with others in the country and
attendees included a variety of people from those with lived experience to
professionals from the NHS, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the National
Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE), Skills for Care as well as providers.
Each representative provided thought provoking insights into their personal and
professional experiences of ‘Dignity’, what it means to them and what others
are doing around the country to champion ‘Dignity in Care’.
Attendance at these events helps with the
development of understanding around the importance of ‘Dignity in Care’, best practice
and keeping up to date about the topic by listening and learning from others. With
a theme of collaborating with kindness, respect and compassion, the growing
network of Dignity Champions across the country is truly remarkable.
